Sociology

I'm interested in the sociology of work, labour processes, working time and the use of life-history methodology to understand social change.

My papers can be found at my academia.edu page.

My book Working Time, Knowledge Work and Post-Industrial society talks about how technological labour processes change our temporal cultures.

I am policy manger at the Digital Repository of Ireland, hence the tweets on digital privacy, open-data, data sharing and visualisations.

I manage the Irish Qualitative Data Archive which drives my interest in research ethics, mixed methods and secondary use of archival data.

I take pictures with an Olympus OM-D E-MI (big camera), a Canon Powershot a650 (small camera) and an iPhone. My old big camera was a Canon Eos 60d but I've moved towards a lighter option.

The best camera is the camera you have with you.
